What car service do I need?
First of all, you can find a lot of information, both in the service book for the car, and also on the manufacturer's website.
It will broadly depend's on the fuel type of the car, whether it be petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric.
It will also depend on the warranty on the vehicle because there will be certain things that the manufacturer requires you to do in order to keep the warranty intact.
There's really three types of a service. There's a major, a minor, and an inspection. A major service, let's say for example, will be done in year one. A minor service will be done in year two, and the inspection will be done every year.
So just to talk you through it quickly what a major service is. A major service is all of the filters, so that would be your oil filter, your air filter, pollen filter, fuel filter if it's present, and an oil change.
A minor service traditionally is just an oil change and your inspection service is almost like a mini MOT. It's just having your car checked over just to make sure there's no underlying issues with it, and it doesn't need any other serviceable items like brakes or tires or any other sort of small serviceable items.
It will also depend on the annual mileage that you're doing.
